"The solution is not to find a way out. The solution is in relating to the movement inside. Once that becomes a conscious movement, it will change on its own" -Thomas Hübl
I have curiosity around healing in relationship with one another. How do collective, intergenerational and complex traumas, brain science, pain science, cultural awareness and bias, chronic pain, all of the "isms" (racism, sexism, sizeism, ableism, ageism etc), the environment, social norms & expectations, spiritual beliefs, and feelings of safety all encourage or disallow access to health, comfort and ease? This somatic psycho-social awareness permeates all of the work that I do. I have found that we are able to heal with one another in ways that are difficult or impossible to access on our own.
I particularly enjoy bringing relief to those living with chronic pain and facilitating downregulation of the nervous system in all of those living in high-stress scenarios. The physical stress response is a beautiful thing...I have deep respect for the ways in which our body learns to care for us, and compassion for that body when it can no longer hold all of the micro and macro traumas we experience in our day-to-day. So much relief can be found through acknowledging and attending to that body. Nearly every discomfort will be exacerbated by stress and thoughtful massage is one of the best ways to unwind it.
My training and experience have included fascial release, craniosacral techniques, spa treatments, cupping, trauma-informed care, essential oils, k-taping, deep tissue massage, chronic illness and pain, injury recovery, behavioral neurobiology, coursework in psychology and sociology and I am a former instructor at East West College of the Healing Arts. All of this sounds heady, and I am- and also, I provide nurturing, soothing, relaxing and transformative bodywork. To make sure that I'm well-grounded, I spend as much time in the woods and mountains as I can, often in a tent, sometimes with a paddleboard and always failing miserably to provide the cat with enough attention.
You can expect awareness, attunement, and mindful communication woven into each session, as we work with your goals to connect with your hard-working nervous system. Let's collaborate to improve your quality of life and together find a more joy & ease-filled reality!

What is Reiki like with Aeryn?
I value very deep honesty with self. The accepting, allowing, and unconditional loving of yourself, and of all your aspects and characteristics. This is such an easy thing to say pretty words about, and everyone has varying degrees of difficulty or ease with actually living that way consistently. I value growing in the ways that bring you closer to that unconditional love and figuring out how you look as your best self in the world. By best self, I mean: living with integrity to your personal values, staying curious about yourself and how you fit into everything around you, and being with your whole heart. I believe that everyone has unique things to offer the world, and nobody can every truly know the breadth of an individuals impact. We are interdependent. We all have different values, beliefs, perspectives, traits, etc, and that is so important! Nature will not suffer absolute uniformity; it will always force diversity because it’s crucial.
Having experienced an oppressive upbringing, I have found myself extremely drawn to spirituality and an exploration of self sovereignty and expression. In 2014, I received a 2 year-long mentorship around ego mastery, deeply rooted self awareness, and learning how to release the mental chatter, slowing down into the moment. I’ve studied how to identify, and fully move through and alter deeply held beliefs that don’t serve me. I am certified in Holy Fire Reiki I and II from Judith Maxey of Almus Reiki, and in 2021 I received Reiki mentorship from Judith as well.
Given my history and passions, I find deep fulfillment in supporting others to connect with their truest self, and to find healing within themselves; and it is often a naturally occurring theme in my sessions with clients. Regardless of the direction our session takes, Reiki promotes deep relaxation that is essential for healing and our overall wellbeing. You may find peace, restfulness, inspiration, a stirring of feelings, insight...What you receive from a session can take many forms, and I’m happy to be there to help facilitate.
Sessions with me begin with a brief dialogue about how you’re feeling and what your needs are. Once you’re on the table, I offer a short guided meditation or invocation to help you ground in the present. Then I will offer reiki according to what I sense is needed, and/or what we’ve discussed. When finished, I’ll inform you that we are done, and have another brief check in about how it went for you and how you’re feeling (and if you want to share about what you experienced, that’s always welcomed if time allows).
I tend to work in silence, to allow for quietude and space, giving us the opportunity to connect energetically, and for you to fully relax and receive and experience. I may occasionally ask about a given area of your body, or relate a sensation or visual cue that I’m experiencing, however, we may spend the whole session in silence, with the soft ambient music I have playing at all times. If we’ve decided you need more active verbal engagement, then I will likely be guiding you through what I’m doing, and maybe encouraging you to participate in visualizations or asking you certain questions to get better answers from such a relaxed state. You may fall asleep or find yourself drifting at the edge of consciousness, which are both perfectly normal when receiving Reiki. You may also feel surges of energy and need to move your body, and there is space for that to happen as well.
Questions? I would love to connect! Please feel free to send an email and I will respond within 48 hours.
